Speakers
Alright well my stock set is finally toast and I am in the process of building my system. I have just got some pioneers for the rear and now am looking for speakers for the front. I keep seeing some referring to them as 6.5 or 6.75 for the size. I have 96 3.3 with what appears to be the stock cassette system. I am going to need the door speakers and the 2 dash speakers and it looks like I have another speaker in the center of my dash.

your stock door speakers are not 6.5". 4" speakers are what you're looking for. I believe 5 1/4" may work also.
The dash speakers are a waste. your best bet is to just remove them all together and do without. My personal opinion is that expensive 6x9s are useless in the rear and that your money needs to be spent on a quality set of front speakers.
I personally have 6.5" speakers in the front and have removed the rear speakers and remounted a set of 4" speakers on the rear deck.

I agree, the dash speakers are a waste. But some good 6x9's in the rear are a must! In my Chevy I'm puttin' 4 6x9's in the rear deck, a pair of 4" in the kicker, and some 1" tweets hangin' high! Some 4" in the rear deck to me is a joke. Not saying that yous is so don't take it the wrong way...

The front door speakers should be 5.25" in a first gen. The dash speakers should be 3.5" but they are a waste and you won't be able to power them with just a headunit anyway.
In a properly set up system, rears are a waste as well, but if you're just looking to replace the factory stuff, I'd throw a set in there. But if you're looking for a real upgrade spend the money on a good set of fronts and an amp to power them...

Four 6x9s in the rear, a pair of 4" in the kicker and 1" tweets hangin' high is the real joke. Why do you want all the sound behind you? How many times do you go to a concert and sit with your back to the stage???

Cars are acoustically set up to ping the sound off of the rear window to the front. My friend has his Malibu set up this way and it feels like your ears are gonna bleed! Besides, I have never owned a car without a nice pair of 6x9's in the deck! Now I'm not claiming to be an expert in car audio (far from it), but I do know what sounds good. :)

Well, there's a huge difference between making ears bleed and sounding good. If you ever get the chance I really encourage you to sit in a professionally done car with only a front stage. The difference will be amazing and you'll never want rears in your system again.
As for the "acoustics" of a car, there are few environments that are worse for acoustics than the inside of a vehicle. Glass and hard plastics are the absolute worst "acoustic" surfaces. The last thing you want are reflections... ;)

I just have 2 12's and my 2 amps. Definitely nothing special because the trunk was the next on my mod list. I have only owned the Corde' for like 7 months and done everything you see to it! It's just too cold for me to get outside in the cold and get crackin' on the trunk. Besides, I'm tryin to get my Chevy up to par right now, lol... :)

Exactly what I was trying to say. I only have 4" speakers in the rear because they were laying around and I was experimenting otherwise I would have completely eliminated the rear speakers altogether.

A set of 4" mids in the rear, properly bandpassed can be effective as rear fill. The critical thing is keeping highs out of the rear speakers. The lower the frequency the harder it is to pinpoint the source...
